You Gotta Lot of Balls

California has officially lost its mind. The City of Los Angeles just released 96,000,000 Shade Balls at a cost of .36 cents per ball for a whopping $34.5M into the Los Angeles Reservoir in effort to keep algae out and water in. This is the fourth reservoir to receive these balls, which would bring the estimate to approximatley $120M in effort to save 300M gallons of water annually.

This is a complete waste of tax payers money and someone should investigate how much Jerry Brown received in contributions from this firm. There's over 228 billion gallons of potable water lost each year from exisitng water distribution systems. Why wouldn't you allocate money to repair a working system that far exceeds any savings and life expectancy from these Shad Balls. In addition, the lose of potential jobs that would be created and taxes collected back from these projects. This is pure fiscal incompitence and why California allows people like this in office is beyond me.
